From Sarah Hale:
The April 2019 Meeting of the Kennebec and District Historical Society is scheduled for Thursday evening at 7 pm on April 4th at the Kennebec Hall.
Although we haven't had a formal meeting yet this year, we have been busy during the winter. We had a successful work day in February, and got quite a lot of filing done while making plans for our display at the Central Frontenac Heritage Days. To co-ordinate with the Empty Bowls Food Bank fundraiser, we made some centerpiece cards for their tables with historical photos and a who, when, where quiz. Both the centerpieces and the display were enjoyed by the visitors that day.
We are also looking forward to an active year -- the Kennebec Memorial Garden is well begun, with the first plaque installed, one waiting for a location, and several more in the planning stages. We hope to see some perennial plantings this year at the location. Come if you can -- and bring something for show and tell. It can be a simple as a photo that illustrates a memory of Arden at some time in the last hundred or so years -- including the recent past, which will someday become part of history.
See you on Thursday, April 4!
