The summer opening day for the South Frontenac Museum will be on Saturday, May 18, from 1-4 p.m. at the Museum at 5595 Road 38 (30 minutes north of Kingston on Gardiners Road) in Hartington.
The theme of this year’s exhibit is South Frontenac from 1900 to 1929 – Before, During, and After the Great War. The centrepiece is our extensive collection of artifacts and records related to the 146th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force – a battalion created to recruit soldiers from the Counties of Frontenac and Lennox & Addington. Supporting displays illustrate the contribution of women to the war effort. There are also exhibits of tools and other items used on the home front.
All are welcome.
The museum will be open until Labour Day on Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday afternoons from 1-4.
