The Kennebec Historical Society is having their June meeting on Wednesday evening, June 5 at 7:30 at the Kennebec Hall.
The main business is the planning of the Strawberry Social, which is scheduled for June 22. They will need volunteers to pick berries (date to be determined by weather -- they are hoping for Friday morning, June 21). They also need volunteers to make biscuits, to set up the hall, to prepare the berries, to serve the shortcakes, and to set up a display of information and artifacts on the morning of the 22nd.
If you can't be at the meeting, but are willing to help, please e-mail Sarah before Wednesday so that they can make realistic plans.
The Strawberry Social is the Society's main fund-raising event for the summer, and is also a good way to involve the community and let people know what they are doing. In spite of all the work involved, it is always fun for volunteers and visitors, so they hope to hear from as many people as are able to participate.
